Flower Shop

Flower shop, Queen Victoria Markets, Melbourne.
This photograph is from a roll of 35mm film shot with my Gakkenflex TLR (twin lens reflex) toy camera. Interestingly, it’s also the first roll of film I’ve shot in nearly a decade. (No, I’m not that old — I’m only 28!) After so many years of shooting digital, I find that the warmth and tonal qualities of film is something digital can’t replicate. Or maybe my photo editing skills aren’t up to scratch.
I’ve also begun experimenting with black and white photography, and while this photo doesn’t show the bright colours of the various flowers, I think it has a classic/timeless feel to it.
